Pull out non-plant material
Remove wire, pots, landscape fabric, plastic labels, irrigation parts, lumber, and household trash. These items should not disappear inside a brush pile.
Identify thorny or irritating plants
Keep thorny cuttings in a separate, visible pile and tell the estimator what they are if known. Do not handle an unfamiliar plant barehanded.
Show pile depth in photos
Take one image from the side and another from several steps back. Brush traps air, so the footprint alone does not describe the load.
Keep brush away from heat and traffic
Do not burn the pile or stage dry brush against a structure. Keep sidewalks, driveways, and emergency access clear.
Quick checklist
- Photograph the material and the loading route.
- Separate plant debris from trash, soil, rock, and treated wood.
- Measure tight gates and flag stairs or slopes.
- Confirm local curb and organics rules before staging in public space.
